Adult Ministries
Reaching the Lost
At Argyle Bible Church, our adult ministry groups have one, simple purpose: to bring people together.
We believe God created us to live in community with others and only then can we experience the full life He intends for us. By studying God’s word and fellowshipping with one another, we are able to form a solid foundation in the Body of Christ. Sharing life through relationships is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why Small Groups and men and women’s studies exist! We’d love for you to join us!
Adult Sunday School
Sunday Mornings – 9:15 A.M.
On Sunday mornings before ABC’s regular church service, adults meet to study God’s word through various in-depth Bible Study curriculum.
Our Sunday school offers a safe environment to study God’s Word in the context of community, in addition to teaching you the tools to study on your own. Whether you’ve never opened a Bible or you are a veteran at studying God’s Word, our Sunday school classes are designed to meet you where you are.
Recent studies include: the book of Esther, evangelism, and the Holy Spirit.
Adult Evening Service
Sunday Evenings – 6 P.M.
Argyle Bible Church maintains a vital and active ministry for our adults. We encourage our adults to take full advantage of opportunities to be involved in the body life of our church through different services.
ABC’s adult evening service is open to anyone 18 years old and older (those 18 and below meet in our Youth services). We take a deeper dive into the Bible to explore our beliefs and how they shape us so that we gain a better understanding of God’s design and be equipped to impact others through Christ in every sphere of life.
GNOME
Girls Night Out – Mothers Escaping
For all ladies 18 years and older, we desire to encourage and make opportunities for older women to be involved in younger women’s lives as living examples of godly women as Titus 2:3-5 calls us to. We employ a variety of means to bring ladies of varying stages of life together to fellowship and to study God’s Word and to teach one another, formally and informally.
Weekly Ladies Bible Study & Prayer:
On Thursday afternoons, there is a ladies’ Bible study and prayer time, open to ladies 18 years and older which is entitled, “Moms in Prayer.”
OGRES
Men’s Bible study groups were formed to allow men in the church to meet to fellowship with one another. The goal is to have these men encourage and help one another in their growth in Christ and their Christian walk through the study of God’s Word. OGRES meetings vary throughout the year. Please see our calendar for dates.
ABC also has a men’s prayer group, which meets every Wednesday morning at 6:30 A.M. for a time of deep prayer and fellowship.
Double Nickel Club
For Adults 55+
Argyle Bible Church’s Double Nickel adults (those 55 years and older) meet once a month to fellowship with one another outside of regular church services. With a variety of outings and events, it’s always a fun time spent growing relationships with other members of the body of Christ.
The dates, times, and locations of Double Nickel events vary, so check our calendar!
Frequently Asked Questions
We’re a church in the Macomb area with the goal of reaching out to our fellow neighbors and communities with the love and truth of God presented in a contemporary, relevant, and compassionate way. We’re trying to do church in a way that will make the message of Christianity accessible to as many people as possible, but especially to those who are lacking a meaningful church connection in their lives right now.
In the mid-1830s, a small group of community members met for a service that took place at the home of John McCord in the southwestern part of Emmet Township, just East of Argyle State Park. The members of that little church sacrificed much to continue to grow together, and their dream was to establish a stationary church. As we talked to others, we began to feel that the idea might really have some merit. Over the next several years God brought together a group of about 60 people or so to make it happen. He also provided the leadership and funding that we needed to put it together. And here we are …
Nope. We are a non-denominational church (or inter-denominational, as some people call it). We were started by several organizations that provided invaluable financial, spiritual and practical support —organizations that included the Midwest Baptist Conference and the Emerging Leadership Initiative. Since then, God has led us into a non-denominational existence while maintaining valuable relationships to these organizations.
Our theology can be best described as Bible-based. In other words, we believe that God has given us his Word in the Bible. What we do and who we are flows out of what we discover therein.
Of course you can. Argyle provides programs for infants through fifth-grade called the Children’s Ministry as well as Student Ministries for middle-school and high-school aged kids. We take seriously our responsibility of lovingly sharing God’s truth with your children, just as we take seriously lovingly sharing God’s truth with anyone.
